How to Define a Doctor Who Fan...
Another of the many reasons why I love The Bloggess.
The funny thing is that talk to most British fans prior to the new series and "Whovian" was anathema to them (and was anathema to others elsewhere). I despise the term. It's one of those cute American sobriquets. "Doctor Who fans" does quite nicely for me.
Don't know whether you have seen these but I thought they were kinda fun and certainly can be fit into one if not more boxes of your classification schema...

Most likely the Throuvian is actually watching Torchwood, given the definition.
