I just did a bit of a clean up of my bookcases and was shocked at the number of books I've managed to accumulate and still haven't read - even though I read constantly and buy new books almost uncontrollably.

I'm going to try and work my way through these books first - the 3 books I'll have to make an exception for are:
. Jim Butcher's next Dresden File book
. next "Isabel Dalhousie" series book
. book 3 in the "Hunger Games" trilogy

I finished Donna Leon's "Venice" a series of essays a couple of days ago and now I'm in the middle of The Monuments Men so I'm well on my way for 2014. I'll check in at the end of January to see how everyone is doing and report on my progress. So, what with your job and your family and your books and your TV and your going-outs, do you sleep/eat/etc? Are you a robot? Are you a superhero? Ooh, do you have a time-turner? I heard they were all destroyed during the fight at the Ministry in '96, but perhaps you had gotten your hands on one before that...

I had written down "Eleanor & Park" for consideration a few months ago, so it's good that it has your seal of approval. It will probably make top of the list for our next bulk order.

Have a well read 2014 (and some rest, I guess).Efthymianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30892649.post-35787232026917392992013-12-30T15:41:41.627-05:002013-12-30T15:41:41.627-05:00Amanda: I just finished Eleanor & Park this mo...Amanda: I just finished Eleanor & Park this morning and was CRAZY in love with it. I just checked the library this morning after I finished and saw Attachments, and realized there's no way I'd get the hold until after the New Year, which means I can't read it until 2015 thanks to the new bookshelf challenge, haha! Ah well, now I have something to look forward to. Glad to hear it's good!

Morag: My favourites are the ones with the asterisks (the super faves have double-asterisks). My friends all joke about me alphabetizing the shelves. I TOTALLY agree it's the only civilized way. (Our CD room has a wall where the CDs are stacked 7 feet high... totally alphabetized.) ;) Nikki Staffordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04463618183850438914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30892649.post-71604927809016569502013-12-30T15:39:02.935-05:002013-12-30T15:39:02.935-05:00That's a great list. Which were you favourites ?

(and what is the problem with alphabetizing things on shelves? - I do it with books, CDs, DVDs, sheet music etc. !)Morag Cnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30892649.post-72530726554492330192013-12-30T15:35:16.550-05:002013-12-30T15:35:16.550-05:00Have you read "Attachments"?
