That arrow thing Arya wants reminds me of that weapon Chris Pratt's blue did had in Guardians of the Galaxy. I can't believe this show is almost over...

@Nikki - I had the same thought as Arya watched so many people from her history arriving, "Arya Stark, this is your life!"

Also, what I thought was just a throwaway joke turned out to be something more. I mean the scene when Tyrion teases Varys, saying he does it "Because I have balls, and you don't." Later, Sansa shames him for believing Cersei's promise to send an army, saying "I used to think you were the cleverest man alive." Umm, you had balls, Tyrion. For a character who used to be such a master at playing the game, Tyrion has fallen from that pedestal, and the show seemed to comment on it in that moment.shobizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01471300080193371502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30892649.post-81587687015965544422019-04-16T18:54:51.447-04:002019-04-16T18:54:51.447-04:00Are you tired of being human, having talented brai...Are you tired of being human, having talented brain turning to a vampire in a good posture in ten minutes, Do you want to have power and influence over others, To be charming and desirable, To have wealth, health, without delaying in a good human posture and becoming an immortal? @Nikki:...
I was enthralled by the opening sequence.

@Nikki: — And the moment Ned takes that job, everything falls apart. —

Does it though? I mean… For the Starks, especially, and most immediately, of course it does. But the Night King was stirring his forces anyway; Viserys had gone abroad with Daenerys to raise an army with which he could restore Targaryen power anyway. Had Robert not been killed and the particular intraWesteros clash of would-be kings never begun those external forces were still in motion. Arya, Sansa, Bran, and possibly even Jon would never have acquired the skills they did, and Jaime would never have finally cleaved from Cersei. Or, you know, they all would have but then it would’ve been fated and you can’t really blame the moment Ned takes that job.

@Christopher: — When he responds affirmatively to Sansa’s question about whether he believed Cersei’s promise, she says, “I used to think you were the cleverest man alive.” —

Yeah. I’m afraid that the potency What Tyrion Does (“I drink, and I know things”) isn’t what it used to be.

@Christopher: — as she leaps into his embrace, she is, for just a moment, little Arya from episode one —

Every time Arya smiled, I felt a bit giddy myself, not only because it reinforced my feelings as a viewer that, yeah, dragons are cool and seeing characters reunited is, however momentarily, a warm fuzzy, but because it was so lovely to see that with all that Arya has become she can still smile unreservedly at those very things.

@Nikki: — Cersei, who’s become obsessed with watching the Dumbo trailer repeatedly on Pycelle’s YouTube account —

Aaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha!!!!! Thanks for all of that.

@Nikki: — Bronn is really good at what he does, and will do whatever makes him the most money. —

Will he though?

Blamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07342343767763035991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30892649.post-8036069689398613782019-04-16T14:33:10.886-04:002019-04-16T14:33:10.886-04:00Nikki and Christopher thank you for this. I missed GoT and Winterfell was a wonderful start to the last season.

I wonder if we can look to our own past with Royal families marrying cousins to keep the bloodline pure and their titles secure. They couldn't have known the genetic cost. So with Jon and Dany I've had to think that Mad Kings aside only Jon may have more of a problem with being together.Rufushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01235495530302299763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30892649.post-18424650619014349442019-04-16T13:28:38.291-04:002019-04-16T13:28:38.291-04:00Wecome back, Nikki and Christopher! I’m pretty certain the last time we heard it was Tomin and Marjorie’s wedding, so it is several seasons since it’s been used and (well, Gendry aside) there are no more Baratheons. So, it seems to me to be referring not just to the first episode but to the idea of an undisputed ruler (the first time we have had one since Robert died) - this is a “one true king” theme (for Daenerys or Jon? We’ll have it wait and see).Steve Halfyardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15260424906068980776noreply@blogger.com
