Today's Fun Lost Question
Someone posted this question in the comments section of a post last week, and I thought it would be fun to bring it front and centre and have us leave our comments here. This is a two-part question:
A) Who do you think will die next on Lost?
B) Who (if anyone) would you LIKE to see die next on Lost?
Oh... um... the picture was that way when I found it. *cough*
you should cross Eko out of that photo with your mad photoshop skillz.
ReplyDeleteI think the next person to die will be... gah. I dunno. Another Other? But if I was writing the show, Charlie would be dunzo. Or Jack. That would be really interesting for the other characters. Sawyer could finally be king for more than a day.
I would REALLY like Jack to die, but I think he's a bit of the glue that keeps everyone stuck together. Besides, what will people do without a doctor on the island?
ReplyDeleteI think at this point, Hurley is dispensable, except that he's the light-humour bringer to the show, so they can't kill him off.
So that would leave Charlie. The person everyone loves to hate, and yet, one of the more interesting characters on the show precisely because he's so nuts. I like Charlie. I don't want him to die. But I don't see his character going anywhere. I just hope that we don't hear "You All Everybody" again. It makes me want to grind my teeth.
On the other hand, Eko's character was DEFINITELY going somewhere, and look what happened to him.
I think Charlie will die next of the main cast. Anthony Cooper if you include the Guest Stars.
ReplyDeleteSun would be my choice on who to kill off. She's quite a duplicitous little rhymes at witch. I mean, she sold her own husband out to her father. And you can't tell me she did it to protect Jin. How would knowing the truth about his mother be any worse than what Sun's father made him do?
Come on, Brian, tell us what you REALLY think! ;) Actually, I was trying to imagine myself in her position (because, you know, dealing with my mob boss daddy growing up was such a bitch) and honestly, knowing Jin's pride, if he'd found out who his mother was -- and that Sun knew -- he would have become a sullen, possibly abusive creature. You seem to be forgetting the nasty person he turned into just before the plane crashed? He was a terrible s.o.b. when they landed, and that was because of his pride (he'd just been confronted by a guy in a bathroom telling him he'd never escape Sun's dad). He still becomes that person every once in a while (check out Glass Ballerina, where he tells Sun in no uncertain terms that she should never disagree with him, EVER). Why is Jin the poor hard-done-by boy and Sun is the evil monster?
ReplyDeleteAnd don't think Paik wouldn't have figured out a different way to recruit sonny boy if that hadn't come up.
I'm with Nikki on the Sun v. Jin issue. He's willing to tell everyone including his wife (who he loves madly) that his father is dead because of the shame of growing up poor. Imagine what finding out his mum's a prostitute would do to him. Sun was in, as Nikki said, a Catch 22.
ReplyDeleteA) It's too obvious that it'll be Charlie. I'm going to go with.... Jack. Just the twist they need for a season finale. Kill of a major character. Doesn't mean he won't be back, though.
ReplyDeleteB) Easy -- Kate.
Charlie would be the obvious one, wouldn't he? Too obvious, I hope the producers don't forshadow like they did with Mistah Isaac on Heroes. That being said I think he will be the one to go and the one I want to go!
ReplyDeleteDon't kill Sun! I want her to lay some whoop ass on the Others!
As a twist on your question, how about who will coome back to life next? If Patchy survived does that nean we might see Nikki and Paulo crawl up from their shallow grave?
ReplyDeleteNext return from the dead: Jack's dad. Since he's not all that dead anyway.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who will die, but I suspect the one person it WON'T be is Charlie, after all the Desmondy foreshadowing.
ReplyDeleteWish it was Jack. My least favourite character, and living on borrowed time since the pilot.
Sorry, I didn't mean to say that I want Sun to die. But if someone had to die...etc, etc.
ReplyDeleteBut I still think what Sun did was wrong. Maybe in the short run it would be better for Jin not to know, but in the long run I think working for Paik was the worse choice.
I'd like to see Sayid die soon. His character developed well for a while, and now it's just stagnant. I would also like to see Sun and Jin die, both of thier characters are a waste of sand space.
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys are vicious!
ReplyDelete(Said the woman who wrote Paulo/Nikki death fantasies...) OK, glass houses, yadda yadda.
I agree with everyone who thinks Charlie's death would be obvious. The writers don't usually go for that on the show. Who do I think will go next? Hmm... I really don't know; as I've said, it feels like Sayid's death has been coming, even though that won't have much to do with the storyline, which makes me think if it has little impact at this point, they'll hold off until later. Maybe Jin or Sun, because their death would have such a huge impact on the still-living spouse.
Who would I like to see die? Jack. Followed by Charlie. I think Jack's death would be HUGE... but at the same time, he's just too integral to the island, and to the show. If Christian Shephard is really running the show -- and I truly believe he is, and is Jacob -- then killing off Jack wouldn't make any sense.
Jeremy: You totally guessed my question for next week! And yes, I agree with Crissy; Christian is my bet. They will NEVER resurrect Nikki or Paulo, unless they really want to make me suffer.
i'm still itching to see the very last episode, where they get rescued and someone (sawyer) remembers the diamonds and goes to dig them up and realises they buried nikaolo alive ...
ReplyDeletei know i'm in the minority, but i would like to see charlie stay alive. i like him and clare. and i know he's been annoying, but no more so than some of the stupid things kate and locke and sawyer and everybody else has done.
don't think sun will die, either. as i said somewhere else, if she has 2-3 months left, that dovetails nicely with the end of the show. that would mean she'd be at death's door just about the time they'd be rescued (and yeah, i firmly believe the last episode will be them being rescued -- if they're going to stay on the island forever, then why end the show? if the producers know they're going to end it in 5 seasons, it would make sense to wrap it up with a rescue), so i think just as she's about to die, she'll wind up being saved.
while i would hate to see him go, i think sayid might be next, if for no other reason than naveen andrews has been pretty vocal about his unhappiness with his role lately and the producers may call his bluff.
whom would i *like* to see die? juliet. she annoys me.
