Mostly, I write about television, and with this being the home of the Great Buffy Rewatch of 2011, a lot of that television is Joss Whedon-related (when it's not about Lost). Stick around if you love Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Sherlock, Lost, BtVS, Doctor Who, or anything on HBO.
How could Veronica Mars be cancelled, and this be resurrected?? Where are the television gods? What sort of sacrifice do we have to leave for them to make this... go away?
Also, how does a crap show like this get renewed, while its competition, "Jericho," (and a much better show, in my opinion) almost didn't make it back off the chopping block?
I wish for one day I could play television executive and wipe all the crap off the schedule and arrange it the way *I* would prefer it to be!
The King of Queens isn't half bad. I for one, am a huge fan of Kevin James, because he's a great physical comedian. I think the whole genre of the family sitcom as happily married husband and wide with 2.5 children is so played out -- which also makes K of Q a little more unique, but then you get the silly, forced parent-in-law angle. Now Arrested Development: THERE was a brilliant family sitcom, and look what happened to it. Maybe the average American audience just doesn't have good taste. :-)
Chapatikid: The only thing wrong with the last line in your comment is the "maybe." The best sitcoms on TV in the last 5 years have been Arrested Development, The Office, and 30 Rock. One cancelled, the other two struggling with ratings. Thankfully, The Office's ratings seemed to have picked up at the end of the season, but its ratings can't touch those of the stupid comedies with laugh tracks. UGH.
If I see Courtney Thorne-Smith or whatever her name is playing the well-dressed-got-it-together mum for one more season, I think I will barf.
ReplyDeleteamen to that, chapatikid!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this trash got renewed when a smart, deep and amazing show like Veronica Mars is over!

I didn't even know this one was still on.
ReplyDeleteHowever, everyone used to put down the King of Queens and that was one of my favorite shows. I've never watched this one.
And I never will.
