How Did I Miss This?!

Here's a big Easter egg I somehow missed! Thanks to Sam Wade for pointing out that Sawyer's been hiding the cliff's notes of the island in his tent:

Every parent's nightmare: That their daughter will grow up and be associated with a magazine called Booty Babes. Thankfully, I'm just associated with the book NEXT to it. ;)

  1. Hey! I totally have that book!

No, no, no. Not that book! The other one—the one by Nikki Stafford:)

  2. Remember the witty titles of the articles on the cover of the magazine in "Just Shoot Me?" Note this:
"Going There" is the name of a brief but pertinent poem by Jack Gilbert, a Guggenheim Fellow and poet-in-residence at Smith et al.

Of course it was a disaster.
    The unbearable, dearest secret
    has always been a disaster.
The danger when we try to leave.
    Going over and over afterward
    what we should have done
    instead of what we did.
    But for those short times
we seemed to be alive. Misled,
    misused, lied to and cheated,
    certainly. Still, for that
    little while, we visited
    our possible life.

Dig deeper to "Get To The Bottom Of It".

I just...I...are we really talking about butsecks?

    Doing the Old Hootie Pootie.

*And by nobody, I mean Nana.

  4. When I wrote in to Damon and Carlton about some ideas of books I would like to see on the show, I never thought they would take my suggestion of "Booty Babes" seriously.

See, people? Damon and Carlton DO listen to their fans, and I'm proof!

I know Nikki's books are awesome, but BOOTY BABES IS THE BEST BOOK OF ALL TIME!

  5. @Nikki: Now you'll have to read Booty Babes and tell people your doing research for work.

You mean that's not you on the cover?

  7. JW: You mean that's not you on the cover?

LOL!! Yes, yes it is. I guess if we're imagining a completely out-there fantasy world in which my books would be shown on Lost, then I will also say in that world my butt looks just like that. YES IT DOES! ;)

  8. @JW/Nikki/Joan: LOL!

Jenn: I have that book too! No, not the booty one, the one by Nikki Stafford.

  10. Jay: HAHAHA!!! Oh man... for everyone else, Jay and I, a looooooong time ago, used to work at a grocery store together in high school. I was a bakery girl, and he wore a nametag with "Elvis" written on it, just so the rest of us would stare as he would manage to keep a straight face while customers called him that. Today he's a DJ on the radio and always introduces me as the gal who had the best buns in the store... meaning my kaisers.

  11. Seriously, does anyone know the reason why the Lost writers inserted that pornographic magazine cover into an episode? Some sort of inside joke, I'm guessing. But it just doesn't seem to jive with the show. In other words, that butt sorta sticks out like a very tacky sore thumb, in an otherwise dignified story line.
