Mostly, I write about television, and with this being the home of the Great Buffy Rewatch of 2011, a lot of that television is Joss Whedon-related (when it's not about Lost). Stick around if you love Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Sherlock, Lost, BtVS, Doctor Who, or anything on HBO.

Happy Picture of the Day!
This one just makes me smile SO much. The two Jacobs having fun at the end of season 2. (Thanks for this one, Crissy!)
That picture makes me feel so happy! Look at them, all carefree and not worrying about defeating the smoke monster or protecting the island... Thanks for posting it. Love, love, love!
I third k.sequoia's idea.. I'm just waiting for the serie's box set to come out (got the preorder) and waiting on Nikky's books too. SO Nikky, if you want to this all again in August (or anytime for that matter), count me in as a new follower of yours.
wv.. jecal ..: yeah! they're out there, and tons of them too.
Everytime I remember that shot of Jack lying on the ground with Vincent next to him, and laughing as the plane flies overhead, and then closing his eyes, I WANT TO BURST INTO TEARS OF EXTREME SADNESS.
I can't remember where I heard...or saw...but Jorge gave an interview one time that, early on in the series, every time he and Matthew Fox would do scenes together, they ruined multiple takes because neither could keep a straight face. Jorge felt one of the reasons they didn't spend as much time together storywise in later seasons was because of this very reason, and he felt the writers did it purposely. One need look no further than the blooper real from the Season 5 DVDs; they still can't keep their act together.
The first thing I thought of when I saw this picture was Ben saying, "We're the good guys, Michael."
Just saw all the cancellations for next season--goodbye Flashforward, Heroes etc. A whole decade of sci-fi based reality shows are over (only V remains, and we've given up watching that due to conflicts between taping LOST and watching Glee). To long for the days of BSG, Pushing Daisies, Six Feet Under, Dead Like Me, Deadwood, Sopranos, all gone into the graveyard of syndication (not Pushing Daisies). What remains may foreshadow what will be; more NCIS, more CSI, reality TV, talent TV. Even Simon Cowell is gone. Time to turn off the TV and read a good book.
@humanbean: I thought Two and a Half Men had only one more season, then it was out. I do like its up-to-date take on The Odd Couple, but I feel Charlie and Alan have played themselves out.
Time to pull Conrad's Lord Jim from the bookshelf. That and I've been really wanting to get to Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. Its just been sitting on my shelf all these years, and I've been way too busy.
Note to self: must remember that the Irony Meter goes to eleven.
@Fred - I read and enjoyed Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell for a book club several years ago. In particular, the ending was elegant and satisfying (unlike the Book Club - see *Irony Meter*, above), a point not lost on a fellow LOST fan.
Verification Word: "tubsta" - the art of acting incredibly cool while bathing nude. See: "Damn It Feels Good To Be A Tubsta".
Oh I miss them so much! :(
ReplyDeleteWhat a great fun happy pic, thanks
ReplyDeleteWe have to go BACKKKKK!!!!

Hey Nikki, what about a re-watch of the series, now with total insight? PLeeease?

ReplyDeleteI second k.sequoia's idea!
ReplyDeleteEverytime Jorge refers to Matthew Fox as Foxy there is so much affection in his voice. The picture confirms it so much.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see them alive :-)
ReplyDeleteSweet pic.
This is my first-time-ever use of

ReplyDeleteRight said, Fred!
ReplyDeleteNot so fast there, Fred! We still have Two And A Half Men to be thankful for.

There's still Chuck, Being Erica, Doctor Who, Smallville (hey, I like it)...
ReplyDeleteNot to mention all the Lost clones that will probably appear. O_o
You're right Fred. I'm cancelling my cable. I'm going to take up exercise!
ReplyDelete"Damn It Feels Good To Be A Tubsta".
ReplyDeleteLOL!
Hey Nikki - Do you think "palatable" will make it into your new book? I think I am one of many who would lave that :D
Joan: For you, of course. Now... who will be able to find the word in the book first??!! ;)
