The Lost Finale: After the Show

Yes, I know many of you will be tuning into the Jimmy Kimmel Live show immediately following the Lost finale, where the cast and writers will be on it, but I'm now going to boldly suggest that you PVR that puppy and instead come and discuss your immediate reaction to the Lost finale with me and two others!

Yes, folks, despite having a giant black X on my calendar over the hours following the finale for, oh, about 6 years (to hold the spot for crying, screaming, mourning, and general curling-up-in-a-ball-in-a-fetal-positioning), CTV.ca, the official website for the Canadian broadcaster of Lost, has talked me into participating in a live online chat where myself, Andrew Ryan (the TV critic extraordinaire who does the Globe live chats with me) and always entertaining Lainey Liu will be trying to form coherent thoughts and helping to guide you through your Post-Finale-Stress-Disorder. I hope you'll be able to come and check it out! (And yes, I'll be posting reminders leading up to it... with shaking, sweating hands as the clock begins to count down to the finale...)

  1. Jimmy WHO? Boo-yeah! I'm IN. But wait - that's past my bedtime .... hmmmm ... wonder if Mother will let me stay up late if I sweep out the Magical Glowing Cave?

  2. Oh man ... maybe I should take Monday off...

  3. Good thing the Monday is a holiday. :)

The finale is my daughter's birthday, but luckily she's out of town for the weekend.

  4. Cool! I'm glad you decided to do it -- I'm guessing a fair number of us will be around to keep you company. And provide a sympathetic group shoulder on which to cry.

Now what about setting up that post-LOST support group blog?

  5. I want to sign up for the Post Lost support group... "Hi my name is Courtney and I suffer from Post Traumatic Lost Disorder"...

  6. My Fellow Americans: I have never attempted to follow the on-line chat because I'm usually (Pick One):
    1. Still in bed.
    2. Still bed-headed with sleep from having only recently made myself get up.
    3. Lost in my own disorder.

How does one find out in advance if you can get involved in that while it's still live? I'm in Ohio. Can we still take part in that even though it's Canadian? Does one have absolutely nothing to do with the other?

I'm all in for the Post Traumatic Lost Disorder group. I'd still love to know how many people this show is going to send into therapy when it ends.

  7. @Gracie - you should easily be able to participate in the chat, even from the States. Nikki will likely provide us with a link as we get close to that day and clicking on that link when the time comes should take you to the site for the live chat. Should be fun!

  8. @H.B. Were you just sitting there waiting to answer a question for me? GEEZ!! Thanks, H.B.! I expected somebody might kick a reply back to me in the next few days sometime, but that was PROMPT!

    I appreciate the attention! LOL

I hope to be there with the rest of the gang.

  9. Has anyone heard about this rouge satellite that's floating around in space, potentially threatening to disrupt Lost?

I googled it, and it seems to be true…but should I be actually worried?

No. I refuse to even entertain the thought.

  10. The Question Mark13 May 2010 at 22:45

I'm gonna see if I can set the computer up next to the TV, cuz all of the people at mhy finale party have been itching to see the Kimmel show, too.
    I shall do both!

  11. So you decided to do it!

I'd planned to tape the whole night anyway, but now I have to hope that if I'm at a viewing party I can steal at least a few moments to check in with you.

VW: intae — Opposite of "out of", to Desmond.

  12. Gracie: This is, just to be clear, a live chat immediately following the Lost finale Sunday night, not one of the live chats that Nikki does the morning after an episode.

VW: oyshille — Expression, short for "oy, shillelagh" (not to be confused with "My Sharona"), often used by Irish Jews.

  13. Thanks Blam. I know, and I so hope to be there!!

In the chatroom that is. Last place I actually went was the doctor's, so actually going "there" was never an option. LOL

I just wanted to make sure way in advance that a chatroom on the internet could originate from Mars and as long as it's on the net, we can all get it.

  14. Benny: This is wild. I haven't been in my Inbox for a couple days because the IN part of it isn't working for some reason. I can send OUT, but nothing is coming back. It's no big deal I guess, because Computer Guy has seen it before, and knows exactly what steps are needed to fix it. But I haven't even pointed at it lately. I just now noticed that if I point my cursor to my Inbox icon, it shows me that there is a message up. So I looked to see what it is. It's a draft in response to some of your comments (and others) and it's been there a while. (Yes, life is wild!) I don't know how old it is. I'm posting it next cause it appears to be all ready to go.

  15. Awesome, Nikki! I would love to, but I guess since I'm on the west coast, I'll be several hours behind. Sigh. Anyway, am still mad at CTV for not picking me to go the big party in L.A. tonight. So, will have to decline.

  16. Hey Nikki, what time does the CTV chat start? More importantly do you know what time CTV is airing the finale? Will it be earlier than ABC?
