Mostly, I write about television, and with this being the home of the Great Buffy Rewatch of 2011, a lot of that television is Joss Whedon-related (when it's not about Lost). Stick around if you love Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Sherlock, Lost, BtVS, Doctor Who, or anything on HBO.

Lost's Alternate Endings from Kimmel
If you didn't get a chance to see Kimmel last night, these were pretty funny!
I was laughing through the tears when I watched it last night. Especially the Survivor one. I loved the vote-off video. And the Sopranos ending. I've never actually watched the Sopranos.
I have never seen "The Sopranos" either, but I did watch its much talked about final scene on YouTube. Good thing I did or I wouldn't have understood the spoof of it at all! :D
These were actually really funny. The only thing I was disappointed with were the questions that the audience were asking, I think even Kimmel was a little disappointed. The cast was great but the audience wasn't taking advantage of the opportunity to ask questions about the plot.
I'm sorry, but I guess I am in the minority here. I was soooo looking forward to seeing Darlton actually COME OUT & be interviewed & show us actual, legitimate, serious alternate endings instead of the 'crap'(Sorry, I just am that pissed off! *Excuse my language!*)they showed us. Such false advertising! It was embarrassing to watch Lindeloff & Cuse act the way they did. I guess I just don't 'get it'. Sorry. But, I was looking for & EXPECTING something better from/of them! Is this REALLY how they want us to remember them? I.E.~the last thing we see? I compare it to when you get up in church & sing a solo. The congregation may not remember how you screwed up the song the first few notes, but they DO remember the last of the song. Perfect or not. This is not how I want to remember Darlton. Perhaps they thought we all needed a 'funny'(?) moment after the tears we all shed. I was just expecting 3 alternate endings of the show. Not parodies of other shows. Yes, the one with Bob Newhart was mildly funny. But, it just weirded me out to see Darlton in bed together & getting icky. I was just disappointed. Also, I didn't understand their choice of cast members to be there. Where was Kate? Hurley? Sawyer made a complete fool out of himself. Sun? Where were all the Oceanic 6 members? I would have loved to see Jacob & Man in Black. Oh, well. I don't mean to make anyone upset. I just didn't appreciate getting excited to see legitimate alternate endings & then have these shown. Also, they KNOW how big of a fan Jimmy Kimmel is. WHY didn't they bring him anything? SOMEthing! EEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Marilyn Manson? Really? This was such a spiritual show. WHY ON EARTH did they give that creaton acknowledgement? Do they not know how he is when it comes to the bible? Doesn't the skull & painting give them any clues? Can you say CUH REEPYOLA! (Insert shudders here!) If everyone goes on www.msn.com & looks at 'celebs&gossip', there is an article of 'Lost finale stirs debate the day after'. If you click on it, there is a pretty long mention of our beloved Nikki! As in the words of Hurley 'Awesome, Dude!' Anyway, these are just my opinions & I needed to vent & I just hope I didn't offend anyone or make them mad. That is the last thing I want to do. I was just disappointed. Not funny. Sorry. LOVED the finale! Cried my wittle eyeballs out! Thanx for letting me vent. Namaste!
I'd also be very disappointed to see legitimate alternate endings. It would mean they really didn't know what they were doing after all, and negate the ending we had.
In an interview with G4's "Attack of the Show," "Lost" Emmy award winner Michael Emerson revealed that there is an "epilogue, a lost scene" on the upcoming "Lost" DVD collection that was not part of the series finale this past Sunday.
Emerson hinted that it will be around 14 minutes in length, and will explain more about what happened after Jack died on the island and Hurley and Ben took over as its protectors.
We were given an idea in one of the final scenes that these two were on the island for a long period of time, in an exchange between the two characters while in purgatory, but this is the first time we've been told that we might actually see some footage of their time "in charge."
It's unclear whether this footage will be part of the sixth season DVD set, or only in the full series set.
Nikki, Thank you for posting those! I did not get to see them last night, but they were indeed funny. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit...the "Survivor" one made me laugh out loud. :)

ReplyDeleteAny one of those parodies would have been better than what they left us with.
ReplyDeleteI liked the Newhart one myself. here's the link from Jimmy Kimmel of the "Tender Moments from LOST"....I loved this one!

These were way funnier than Letterman's top 10 spoilers from the other night.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part: In the Survivor one, Naveen's double take when he sees Harold Perrineau standing next to him.

Marilyn Manson is a celebrity, and a Lost fan. He's also a human being.
ReplyDeleteJimmy Kimmel is a comedian who's been doing Lost comedy bits for ages. Of course they were funny alternate endings.
I liked Darlton in bed. My favourite ship. ;)

ReplyDeleteThis is apparently a "real alternate ending":
