I;m sorry. I do not know what this pic is in reference to. Can someone help? Thanks.
David: I'm assuming you're not Canadian... November 11 is Remembrance Day in Canada (the US equivalent is Veteran's Day) and Canadians wear poppies through the month of November, at least up until that day. The poppies are symbolic, taken from a John McCrae poem called "In Flanders Fields" where the rows of soldier's graves from the First World War have poppies growing on top of them. So by wearing the poppy, you're remembering those Canadians who died in the war. November 11, 1918, was the end of WWI.

My daughter has a picture book of the poem and I tried reading it on Tuesday but I always get choked up. It's a lovely poem.
