Finding... The Contest Winner!

This tongue-in-cheek pic was sent to me yesterday, and I just had to post it as the final pic of the series... sent by reader David McCloughan, Jr., he showed me what SHOULD have come as a bonus in the complete Lost DVD set. I couldn't agree more!!

LOL!! Thanks, David!!

And now, without any further ado, the announcement of the winner of this contest: Man, you guys have made it SO tough! You've all made me giggle or laugh out loud or be astounded by the ingenuity you came up with... but it came down to two, and from there I had to choose one, and my choice is... Erin Pugh! For balancing books on her head while setting a timer, and making me laugh with those great looks on her face. Congrats, Erin! I do want to throw an honourable mention to LittleMo, though, who not only made me love her for that bath pic, but pulled some great yoga poses in her other ones. Thank you for brightening my day and this blog.

You guys are awesome. And I do welcome pics of you holding the season 6 book, because I know every single one of you will get a copy, right? RIGHT?? ;)

Finding... Namaste...

And as if Morag's bath pic wasn't awesome enough, here are some pics she took when she got home from yoga class and was inspired by Erin's pictures. I'll pass along the captions she provided for me (and might I add, that is some FINE form, lady!). Oh, and don't forget: Lostaholics Anonymous meeting tonight!! Find me here at 9pm:

The answers are all in here!:

I need to take my time over this...

Perhaps they're up there?

Or a new perspective on season 3:

How about this way up:

It's no good... I'll have to go back to the beginning:

Aaaargh!!:

I'll just have to wait for Nikki's last book - please hurry up !!!

Finding Morag!

I've gotten cabbage heads, four toes, people balancing books on their heads, and strongmen, but this is the one you've all been waiting for... HARDCORE NUDITY!!!

Well, OK, not quite. But reader Morag (aka LittleMo) proves that even in the bath, she can't tear herself away from my Lost books!!! This demonstrates some careful suds arranging...

Finding Bridget...

...or should I say... Juliet??

Finding PresPastor!

Since my books have gone AWOL, I'll announce the winner of the contest tomorrow, since I have about three more of these to post! (And if you have a pic you'd like to send me, send it on!)

From Andy, one of my readers here and on Facebook, comes a nifty collage (one that makes me all nostalgic and stuff...) This is from his email:

"Pres Pastor finds himself LOST not having good ole theological, philosophical and ethical discussions about the mysteries like the Numbers, the sideways verse, Christian Shepherd, the Smoke Monster, Desmond’s time traveling, the ageless Richard Alpert, Locke’s special gift, polar bears and whether Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack had a finger licking original recipe."

Finding Erin!

And today we have Erin!! I couldn't choose just one because they were SO funny... and she said she was doing it on a timer!! Erin, you are a goddess with the camera timer. I can't press the button and manage to get into the photo, much less balance all of that stuff on me! Bravo! In this series of pictures, Erin seems to have lost her Finding Lost books, and doesn't know where to find them (she's like Little Dharma Peep!) She tries to jog her memory through meditation (Namaste) and then a little Dharma beer, and suddenly, she remembers.

Finding Jean

I've fallen behind on these, but here's a great pic I got from Jean Schubert, one of our devoted readers and commenters! I love the inclusion of the beach (we have to go baaaack!!) And I'm really jealous of that gorgeous pedicure. ;)

If you have a picture you'd like to send, please send it by the end of the day today, and I'll be announcing the winner of the contest to win a free copy of the book tomorrow! (P.S. I'm hoping to have my box o' books today!)

Finding Humanebean

And here is our beloved humanebean, who has been keeping his hobby -- as a strongman in a travelling carnival -- a secret from us!! Extra points for getting the new book in there!! :)

Finding Question Mark!

So, Question Mark was going about his day, minding his own business, when he began seeing notices about something called Lost. He had this weird nagging sense that that should mean something to him, but it didn't. He got home and logged onto the internet, and began chatting with someone named "humanebean." Again there was this weird sense of deja vu, but he didn't know why he was feeling that way. And then, when he walked into his bedroom to go to bed, he found this. And was utterly confused:

Where did these books come from? Was there a theme? And how the hell would he go to bed now?? He picked up a copy of Finding Lost, and suddenly saw images of his real life flash before him, and he remembered everything -- Lost, our conversations here, how it changed his life. Was he in the sideways world, and was about to be reunited with all of us so we could finally let go and move on??

No. He'd just eaten a bad burrito that afternoon and it had made him a temporary amnesiac. But hey, we'll SAY he was in his sideways world. Way cooler. ;)

Thanks for the picture, Question Mark! I loved it!! (And I loved the cover of your copy of The Third Policeman... it's completely different from mine.)

Finding Batcabbage

So, a couple of weeks ago I announced a contest where I was looking for people to take pictures of themselves with one or more of the Finding Lost books, or to photoshop a picture of the books somehow, but one thing I asked is that the picture make me laugh. Batcabbage has been a regular on here for a while and he has YET to give me a picture of him holding the book... the Dark Leafy Knight is apparently too mysterious to show us his face. So when he emailed me last week and said, "Hey, attached are the pics of me holding the books" I opened the attachments with MUCH excitement!! We were finally going to see Batty!

And then... I saw this.

And this...

Smartass. Looks like Batcabbage has a little bit of the Joker in him... That said, he achieved the prerequisite: I laughed out loud when I opened them! And hey, I can now say I've seen Batkitty's arms. ;)

One of these days, I shall GET you, Batcabbage!

So, who can do better?

Finding Barry!

Imagine my happiness when Barry, the guy who designed my season 5 Finding Lost cover and now the upcoming season 6 cover (and made it possible for me to watch last week's episode!), emailed me to say he took a picture of himself with my books. Imagine my delight when I opened the attachment to discover... that Barry had time traveled to the future in the true spirit of Lost, took a picture of himself HOLDING my as-yet-to-be-startedwritten Season 6 book, and then time traveled back to the present to send me this photo from the future!! Wow... can anyone beat THAT? ;) (Can I just say again how much I love my new cover?) Presenting, the lovely, talented, Barry!! (Complete with Dharma jumpsuits, lol!)

Finding Ambivalentman!

I haven't gotten a new Finding Lost reader pic in ages, and then I got two yesterday! I'm going to post this one first and then the next one later in the day. This is Ambivalentman, a.k.a. Jeremiah, whose blog is here (and I hope you visit it because it's great!). I'll always remember him as the guy who came onto the DocArzt site when I'd written a speculatory post and a few people attacked me in the comments, and he gave them the what-for. He was firmly entrenched in my heart at that moment. :) He took this pic at his Lost premiere party (:::tears that I can never have parties because I have to blog!:::) and check out the inflatable palm tree!! HAHAHA! Love it. What a great picture. Happy Lost Day, everyone!!

Finding Jeff Heimbuch!

I've had this photo sitting here FOREVER and decided it would be most appropriate to post it on a Lost day. This is Jeff Heimbuch, one of my earliest visitors and posters on the blog. Waaaay back in season 3, when I first started blogging on Lost, he filmed an independent movie called, "LOST: Off the Island" about a guy who was obsessed with Flight 815 going down and was trying to piece together the reasons it had, because his brother had been on the flight. Then, post-season 3, the Lost summer ARG was a game following a guy who was obsessed with Flight 815 because his girlfriend had been on it. Hm. Jeff did it first!! He sent me the movie, and it was a lot of fun. You can read more about this and other productions he's working on at his site, here. And now, the adorable Jeff!

Finding Joan Crawford!

I don't know if you follow Nik at Nite regular Joan Crawford's blog, but if you don't... check it out. And warning: unless you want to replace your keyboard or laptop every time you check the blog, don't be drinking anything while reading it. It's HILARIOUS. Lately she's been posting about her new bangs and how they're driving her nuts (been there, done that...) and I swear I was laughing so hard my sides were hurting while I was reading about her adventures and her husband's comments. So I asked her to send a pic of herself for this blog, and emphasized that I'm sure those bangs will be in fine form. And... she didn't disappoint. May I present, the brilliant and beautiful Joan Crawford!

Finding Jazzygirl!

I've been meaning to post this photo for ages (sorry Jazzygirl)! Jazzy went to Disney and took a picture of herself standing with one of the Pirates of the Caribbean skeletons, but let's pretend it's the original captain of the Black Rock instead!

She also took a photo of this ABC restaurant menu: check out the top item! Haha!! Thanks for sending these Jazzygirl! Yet another one to hang on our "Beautiful People of Nik at Nite" wall of fame!

Finding Benny!

And here he is, he of the translation of what Rousseau's crew was saying in the boat during the storm and he of many, many amazing insights into the show while it's on (and pdfs of the Dharmaville housing layout). I LOVE this photo... check out all the books around the TV. And I'm STILL trying to figure out how he's balancing the Finding Lost books in his hands like that. Benny's picture is filled with as much intrigue and Easter eggs as an episode of Lost!!

Six More Days!!

We're so close... it's less than a week away. Remember last May when it felt like an eternity? It's almost upon us: time to get out your most important Lost paraphernalia -- the DVDs, the posters... and your Finding Lost books! Heeeeeere's Nik at Nite regular Maggie Dixon! I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but... OMG so cute!!:

A Sweet Finding Lost Reader!

I've been meaning to post this for AGES. One of our regulars on here, LoyallyLOST, emailed me right before Christmas to get a book for her mom. I was out of copies but was able to scrounge one up in early January, because she needed it to get to her mom by January 11... and somehow it arrived EXACTLY on that day (I think Jacob was helping it along...) She was heading to her mom's house to give it to her, and then gave her the book and took a photo of her reaction:

SO. CUTE!! Her mom is a big Charlie and Claire shipper, so here's hoping we get a glimpse of our Chah-lie in season 6, just for her mom. I hope she enjoys reading it!

Finding Contest Winners!

To shake things up a little bit, here's a pic of Shari Donk, who was one of the two lucky winners of the S5 limited edition Lost box set on DVD, holding up her prize. But if you look closely... the writing on her box is backwards, which means she's aligned with Evil Blam!! (Check out how she's looking up at the white flash... she's about to jump through time! Maybe she's trying to ESCAPE Evil Blam...)

By the way, I was sent the limited edition DVD for running the contest, which was nice, and I wanted to do another less-disastrous video podcast, but I still don't have a new microphone for my computer. [Insert anti-PC sentiment from humanebean here.] But if you guys haven't seen it yet, I'd love to show you what's inside. While it's not the sort of thing I would have bought (because I like all of my DVD box sets to look alike, which my husband says makes me a supergeek), it was pretty awesome.

It's... Teebore!!

I was so excited to open this file so I could finally see what Teebore looked like, and even MORE excited when our beloved Teebore pictured himself not only with the Finding Lost series (minus season 3, which he explained is on loan to his brother) but three of my other books!! Oh Teebore, you do know how to make a gal happy! :)
