And nary a Lost vote among them. Sigh. They've missed the mark on this one. But I'm glad to see Mad Men getting good play again. But my fingers are crossed, hoping that THIS year will finally be Michael C. Hall's year to win for Dexter. He is brilliant.

Bollywood girl here is happy to see A R Rahman nominated for his music. Slumdog Millionaire is a must-see.
In Bruges should win best comedy. Probably the most genuinely funny movie I've seen in years. And EVERYONE in it is completely brilliant. Both Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell should win the best comedy actor award. And Ralphie Boy Fiennes should be nominated for best supporting actor in a comedy. Do yourself a favour and see this film!
I haven't seen a lot of the films nominated (mostly due to limited releases), but I'm disappointed that, Ledger excepted, The Dark Knight was completely snubbed.
I agree with JJ. Dark Knight was an amazing movie, and deserves more than just a Ledger nomination.
Also, I had to stop watching Season 4 of Weeds because it was completely moronic. I've talked to many people who did the same thing. I can't believe it got nominated.
I'm sorry - what is Mamma Mia! doing all over this list? And, though I've not yet seen "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," I can't imagine that it would be *that* good.
On to the positives:
Anne Hathaway for "Rachel Getting Married," predictable, but I still love her.
Rebecca Hall for "Vicky Cristina Barcelona"
Kate Winslet (both films), though it seems like she's starting to play the system, no?
"I Thought I Lost You" - haven't heard the song, but Miley's my guilty pleasure of the season
