Damon's Fave Flicks

Here's a 5-minute clip from iamRogue.com where Damon Lindelof talks about the 6 films that really influenced him, and in many ways, influenced Lost. I LOVE his choices, and it makes me admire him even more than I already do. Thanks to joshua for the link!

Damon feels like the kinda guy whom you know for a fact that, if you were to meet him in person, the two of you would get along immensely.

I have a new goal in life: to one day work with Damon Lindelof on either an acting or a writing project :)

You forgot your second goal: To take me with you. ;)

The Godfather is on Spike TV all the time. I never picked up before that this is a father/son movie. Michael Corleone had bigtime Daddy Issues!

The other movie on Spike a lot is Pulp Fiction. Loved it, watch it over and over. Pulp Fiction should have won the Oscar over Braveheart, with crazy Mel Gibson. And my husband could lip synch to The Godfather.

Let's do it, Nikki! You, me, & Damon can write the next big LOST-esque thing :)

@lostinyoureyes ... Pulp Fiction lost to Forrest Gump in 1994. It was robbed big time.

Braveheart won in 1995 over Sense and Sensibility, Il Postino, Apollo 13, and my personal favorite Babe.

Was it Forrest Gump? My bad.

So, which lines of dialog do you prefer:

"Bacon tastes gooood. Pork chops taste gooood,"
or
"Life is like a box of chocolates"?

That whole conversation in the car between Vincent and Jules cracks me up. And the family says that line (the first) every time I serve pork chops (or bacon).

Some good variety there. I haven't seen all of those movies but I've seen some - Damon has good taste. I've enjoyed Raiders of the Lost Ark and Bambi and The Shining was absolutely brilliant! I appreciate Pulp Fiction for what it did for cinema and TV but there was too much language and violence for me (some good jokes though) and the rape scene disturbed me. The juxtaposition of terrible violence and hilarious dialogue or character moments was great but (in my opinion) the experience was a little hollow.

Pulp Fiction ... 1st

The use of dialogue, the use of violence, the use of time.

Love it !

I was at work one day, proselytizing about LOST to a group of virgins (as you do) and one of them said they'd seen the finale and it reminded them of "Pulp Fiction".

At first I was like "Wha?? How did 'The End' remind you of 'Pulp Fiction'??"

He said it was because of all the 'jumping around' (I assume he was talking about the cross-cutting between the island and the flash sideways).
I told him that had been built into the style of the show since the beginning. I had never found it similar to "Pulp Fiction" at all.
But then I got to thinking, and season 5's jumbled timeline (both off and on-island) is definitely Pulp Fiction-ish....
