Winter Is Coming... This Sunday!

I hope y'all are anticipating the new season of Game of Thrones as much as I am! I've seen the first few episodes already, and they are fantastic (and Tyrion is at an all-time awesome). This season I will be covering the episodes much the same way I did last season, with my co-host Christopher Lockett. He will be covering the eps from a bookish perspective (i.e. was the episode a successful adaptation of that episode in book 2?) and I will be looking at the episodes purely as stories unto themselves.

To prepare for the return on HBO and HBO Canada this Sunday, I am giving away one Game of Thrones T-shirt. All you have to do is leave a comment below, telling me what you're looking forward to most this season, and I will choose one winner on Monday. Please check back in, because I'll post the winner and you'll have to send me an email with your address. This is open to North American residents only (sorry everyone else; postage rates have just gone through the roof) and good luck to you all!

The shirt is to commemorate the recent Game of Thrones exhibit here in Toronto, and is size L, but it actually looks more like an XL:

Everything! Tough call so I picked a "House - The Targaryen" The new Khaleesi with some dragons? Now that should be something to see play out.

I'm looking forward to Lannister treachery & Stark heroism. I'm looking forward to schemes, plots, backstabbing, & murder. I'm looking forward to King Joffrey being a little asshole. I'm looking forward to Tyrion Lannister being a little genius. I'm looking forward to Arya continuing to look like a boy, and Bran continuing to look like a girl. I'm looking forward to dire wolves, White Walkers, and three-eyed crows. Bust most of all, I'm looking forward to NAKED EMILIA CLARKE COVERED IN DRAGONS.

I am most looking forward to the season of the imp, Peter Dinklage was great in the role last year and if it is like the books he should be taking a step forward in spotlight as the hand of the king this season. Plus a huge battle towards the end which I can't wait to see how it plays out on screen...

Mostly I'm looking forward to the dragons because I can't wait to see how they incorporate them while making them look realistic. I love the whole premiss of the show and can't wait to see how it all plays out in each family group.

I too am looking forward to seeing Daenerys'...um, dragons.

O, Khaleesi, how
you tease me! With dragons like
that, you are the queen.

Why is the House of Stark the one that gets least naked?

I can't wait to see...

-More Tyrion

-More guys dying and falling thru the big hole

-More of the young daughter because she's a great actor

-More of the whiny king

-More of Mayor Carcetti (wrong show?)

-Hopefully, more of the White Walkers

-and yes, more of naked Danys

-Tim Alan

I'm looking forward to how Lord Ned Stark is remembered. How his memory and style of leadership will shine through each of his sons characters and possibly see if Bran aenges his fathers unfair death.

Bring on the dragons!

I'm sure I'm too late for the drawing (I only saw this now)...but I'll chime in anyway. I'm really looking forward to John Snow. I feel like his destiny is something huge aside from just being on the Wall. I'm also interested in seeing how Robert's bastard blacksmith son comes into the story. As of last night, clearly he'll be in it more. I feel like Sansa is going to subtly outwit Joffrey for her own survival. I did see a preview of an episode with Eddard Stark...looked like a flashback to me. I'm very happy about that because I think Sean Bean is just great. :)

Sorry, I said Monday, and then thought I'd post it with my review, but since that's taking longer than I expected, I shall post now!

To keep things fair, I asked my best friend to pick a number, and she picked 10. So the winner is Geonak19! Geonak, could you email me at nikki_stafford@yahoo.com and send me your address? Thanks!

And thanks to everyone for entering. For all of you who want to see Daenerys and the dragons, I hope you enjoyed seeing them in that first episode. :)
