GoT Book Club: Technical Difficulties...

So, a couple of weeks ago I announced that we were going to read A Clash of Kings through the blog throughout March and I put up the schedule and everything. I would link to it, but I've already taken down that post, because... we can't make that happen.

And I do apologize to everyone who has been furiously reading part 1 of the book to prepare for today (as my friend Ashlie said last night at my Oscar party, she had to watch a ton of movies to prepare for the party, and then read part 1 of Clash of Kings, and "being your friend requires a LOT of homework!!") However, turns out March is going to be a gong show for Christopher at work, and I've had a lot of work pile up as well. Before I was a freelancer, I could write something quick on my lunch break. Now I'm not paid for lunch breaks, and that's probably the real reason why you never see anything on this blog... in order to write something here, I have to give up paid time at work to do it.

BUT! We are planning to do book 2... it's just going to follow S4. Which we WILL be covering on the blog, promise. We've already got the schedule in place for the first week, even though when that episode airs I'll be on a plane flying to the UK. But we will be able to do that week's post still, and when the season is over, we'll launch right into book 2, followed by book 3, which means we'll have the books caught up to the show. And then the question becomes... do we do book 4 and get ahead of the show? Hm...

"This is a joke, right? You are seriously telling us this THE DAY OF?!"

Anyway, I do apologize. There have been some technical difficulties on our end (I sent the first pass to Chris and wondered why he wasn't getting back to me, and it turns out he never received the email, and then we realized how tight everything had become and suddenly turned our calendars and thought, "Uh oh..." when we saw what was coming up in the weeks ahead) and last week was insane for everyone — you may have noticed a missing Walking Dead post, for instance. So please keep reading through, and if you'd like, read the entire book and then we'll be able to handle it in chunks. To open every week, I'll give a quick recap of the section that we covered just so you know what we'll be discussing.

Sorry. This blog will get its act together soon.  Or else I'm worried Daenerys will sic her dragons on us.

June is fast becoming my least favorite month thanks to the inevitable Game of Thrones withdrawal that we all have to go through but reading your excellent analysis on the books might just make it a little brighter :)

Hahaha, now I might actually be able to finish Middlemarch in time! I was worried I would have to pick one or the other!

Aw, thanks, AG!

And yes, Ashlie, I was thinking the same thing! See, I just made it a tiny bit easier to be my friend. :)
