Happy 64th Birthday, Mr. Bowie!

Now, please, go on tour so I can see you again. It's been too long... xox

Love this song <3
Although it will forever be associated with Life on Mars the tv show which is also awesome...

My all time favourite album is Hunky Dory with Life on Mars my favourite song.
(I still have the album on Vinyl, but recently splashed out on a CD version for the car !! I turn it up to maximum volume and sing along)

I always get goosebumps when the double basses start just before the chorus :-)

Oops - the basses come in just befor 'But the film is a saddening bore ........'
that video is new to me, great to see it, thanks

I always knew he had two different coloured eyes but on this it looks like he has different sized pupils too

He does; he was in a fight when he was younger and was punched in the eye, which caused it to dilate permanently. I've heard conflicting stories about the eye colour, but many people say it's an illusion that one is blue and one is green, that they're both hazel and the dilated one just looks darker than the other. But in this video they definitely appear to be different colours.

Love that song, love the series (the British one), love Bowie. Anyone see him on Extras? I was almost crying with laughter.

I've pretty much loved him forever. <3

It's Elvis's birthday too, but we won't be seeing him anytime soon. ...Or will we? ;p

Oh man, this is the second time in recent memory that I have been able to attempt this... don't let me down:

Me: You remind me of the babe.

Your turn.

Hint: This will, ideally, end with you and I dancing around in *tight* leggings.

Batcabbage said...

@Joan: What babe?

Nikki Stafford said...

The babe with the power!

Batcabbage said...

What power?

Joan Crawford said...

The power of voodoo!

Nikki Stafford said...

Who do?

Batcabbage said...

You do!

Joan Crawford said...

Do what?

Nikki Stafford said...

Remind me of the babe!

Joan Crawford said...

Yay! This absolutely tickles me.

I saw my baby, crying hard as babe could cry!

This is where Nikki, Batcabbage, and Joan all giggle maniacally and begin doing the Magic Dance... as everyone else looks on with some concern and begins whispering about us behind our backs. ;)

Giggles maniacally!

Batcabbage said...

Also, dances magically!

I'm so glad you had this, Joan — and sorry my friends let you down. 8^)

As for Bowie, I saw him in concert exactly once, on the Sound + Vision tour. Yes, I know, it was a greatest-hits revue instead of an album-oriented concept thing, but he was also saying that it might be the last time he would do anything like a greatest-hits revue, and it was still Bowie in concert.
