And for our final post of the night, I saved this wonderful, heartfelt post from the last of our commenters who I'm pulling up on stage. ChristinaB only recently discovered Buffy and watched the series for the first time right before the rewatch began, so she followed along as someone who'd seen the show already, but was still new to Buffy fandom. We'd chatted a lot back and forth on Facebook, and then I finally met her face-to-face this past August at Fan Expo. I was at a booth, and suddenly I saw a flash of a Tom Baker multi-coloured wool scarf, and this woman appeared in front of me, dumped a bunch of knitted Daleks onto the table in front of me and said, "Your choice!" and I looked at her, recognized her instantly and said, "Christina!!" It was wonderful to put a voice to the face and name that I knew so well.
A couple of weeks ago she left a comment on one of my posts (where I was talking about extending the Buffy Rewatch into Angel S5) and it surprised and touched many of us, where she mentioned she'd been wary of fandom because of dealing with anxiety, but that through this Rewatch and the generosity of the people here, she's come out of her shell.
Well, not only has she come out of her shell by typing up her comments, but here she is in VIDEO (!) with an amazing poem she wrote. As I said to her, I've seen people try to sum up BtVS in 10 minutes or less, but I've never seen anyone actually accomplish it as well as she has. I hope you enjoy her summary as much as I did. Thank you, Christina!
And thank you to all of you. Here endeth the Rewatch.

My copy of Firefly was missing - but my husband gave me a new copy for Christmas! So I'm in!
Thanks. That was a lot of work, and you were so obviously moved that it made me a bit teary.
Back for Angel next week?
That. Simply. Rocked.
(and yay for the Firefly love!)
Brava, Christina, Brava. Really a great job. Glad to know you on FB and Twitter now. I'm still in for Angel, so talk to ya next Tuesday.
I don't think I can say it better than Mockingbird did! Thanks, Christina B, I am amazed by your poem; it was epic. You really should consider trying to publish it in some form.
As for the ending, please know you aren't alone. This rewatch was so great, and I really hope that we will all somehow meet again to discuss other shows. At least we still have Angel Season 5. I am going to dry my tears now, and go to bed.
Christina, Nikki and everyone who contributed today, thank you so much! This was the kind of vacation day I couldn't have created if I had tried -- it was really the best! You guys are all so great, and I feel so lucky to be connected to such thoughtful, creative people in this way. Take care everyone.
Wowsers, ChristinaB, that was epic. You slayed it. And, 12 minutes with barely a stumble (was that Take One?). I've tried that for my own amusement, and...not so easy.
"Firefly" = oh, yeah.
"Firefly" + "Serenity" = hells, yeah
I had to restart my computer TWICE to get all the way through your epic poem. My husband says I probably need a new video driver.
But anyway, how AMAZING!! (Did you memorize that? Most impressive.) Nikki did indeed save the best for last. You put so much of yourself into this project, and really shared your heart there towards the end, and I received it as a loving and generous gift. Thank you so much. Bless you, and Happy New Year!
VW: metro - one of Sawyer's nicknames for Jack
Colleen-You couldn't DRAG me away from here for the last season of Angel! I'll be here!
And thank you! :)
Mockingbird-Thank you!
Lisa-Ditto! I've been so blessed to find many of you on Twitter and Facebook! It's wonderful to have so many things in common with such intelligent strangers! ;)
And thank you!
Suzanne-Thank you! It's been a truly amazing journey with you all. :)
Page48-HA! No way...try about 20 takes! No, I'm not joking!
I'd either flub a line badly or get too emotional...yes, in some of the takes I'm actually SOBBING so hard I can't even get through the last 2 or 3 paragraphs. Those went into the trash, LOL.
This one wasn't perfect..I mispronounce 'scythe' and I flub a couple of minor lines, but this was the best one, so I went with it!
And thank you!
Marebabe-It's MOSTLY memorized NOW (after those 20 takes! :P), but if you look closely, you can see I'm actually reading off the computer monitor which is strategically placed directly behind my video camera. ;)
But you hit the nail on the head completely.
I wanted to show at least SOME emotion. That's WHO I am...that's what makes me, me.
But the sobbing was TOO much! Ha!
(During my first few tries, the crying started at, "My shirt, Tara says, as she falls to the ground" and I just kept crying from there!)
But this video, and the poem are simply me.
I struggled with whether or not I wanted to just have Nikki post the poem alone for people to read, or whether I should actually READ it for you.
I'm glad I chose the latter (with Nikki's help).
I think it works better when you can actually see the emotion on the writer's face and hear it in their voice...not to mention the flow works better because some of my rhymes are questionable. ;)
I'm relieved and so very proud that you all like it as much as you do. :)
Oh, and Twitter...You can find me @ChristinaBWho.
And, y'know...publishers...I'm free and open for contract talks! :P
(vw. unskype. No, really. That's the word. Ha!)
Perfect ending. Thank you so much!
That was just fun, lovely, and moving. Thanks so much for taking the time to give us this ending to the Great Buffy Rewatch. You're video was the perfect capstone.
ChristinaB, I am so glad you read it for us since you did bring such wonderful emotion to it. However, I am very impressed that you work so hard on so many takes in order to bring us such delight. You are amazing.
Wow. Just wow.
How you came up with that I don't know how.
Was it hsrd? Did it take long?
We still have Angel Season 5. Don't worry were not totally done.
Thank you, everyone. I'm seriously thrilled and tickled (and a little surprised!) that you like my poem. :)
Dusk--It took a couple of days of straight sitting there and working on it...and yes, it was hard. ;)
I do seem to have an odd knack for stringing words that rhyme together, especially when it's about people or TV shows....but even so, there's a lot of rewriting and cursing that seems to help the progress a bit. :P
Fun! Thank you! Love the rhymes--especially where you managed to fit in the Season Five headstone quotation! And the Christmas tree in the background gives it a seasonal edge. LOL!
That was simply beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing it with us all :)
